It’s hard to believe that a whole year has gone by since Metro Cinema moved to the Garneau
Theatre. It’s been an incredible year for all of us, and we’d like to thank the huge community
of folks who have helped us bring you quality cinema experiences all year round. And special
thanks to all of you, for coming out and supporting us!
When we opened last year, one of the films we screened on our first day was The Big Lebowski.
So it seems fitting to relive the magic of that hot August night by bringing the film back one
year later, with special drinks this time to enjoy with Walter, Donny and The Dude.
We’re proud to be bringing in two programs of short films from the Images Across Canada: 25th Anniversary Tour: Radical Recess, a screening of avant-garde films for children and A Letter to the Living which includes a film by local filmmaker Lindsay McIntyre.
And finally, what better film for summer than the movie that changed the landscape of cinema forever:
Jaws. The first four screenings are a new 35mm print and the final three will be digital. Don’t miss the chance to be thrilled by its power
all over again!
