Past Forward: The Garneau Theatre at 75

The Garneau Theatre turns 75 this year and as its current guardians Metro Cinema wants to make sure we pay proper tribute while still honouring our Metro style. Past Forward: The Garneau Theatre at 75 is a 4 day extravaganza highlighting both 1940 and 2015, as well some signature Metro events. Come once or spend the weekend with us as we showcase all the style and history that the Garneau, and Metro Cinema, have to offer.

Metro Cinema Needs Your Garneau Story!

The Garneau Theatre, one of the city’s most familiar landmarks, is celebrating a big birthday this year and Metro Cinema wants to make sure that we capture what she means to Edmontonians. Metro Cinema is honoured to program this beautiful old theatre, and we are delighted to hear many stories from the patrons, staff and filmmakers of past years.

To pay tribute to what this building has meant to Edmontonians, we want your Garneau Theatre stories. Send them to us at garneau@metrocinema.org, and we’ll send you an invite to Flash Bash, the centerpiece of our Past Forward celebrations. These stories will form a living and lasting legacy of the Garneau Theatre.
