Jonathan Demme Tribute

The films of director, producer, and screenwriter Jonathan Demme (1944-2017) deserve recognition not only for their consistent quality, but for also for their diversity. He rose to prominence with his critically acclaimed concert film Stop Making Sense, in collaboration with the Talking Heads. He became best known for directing The Silence of the Lambs, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Director. Demme’s first feature, Caged Heat, was produced by Roger Corman, who not only kick-started Demme’s career but also many others including Jack Nicholson, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, and Robert De Niro.
