DEDfest: Hellberta’s Horror Festival and Metro Cinema Society invites filmmakers to submit their recently completed, horror related works to DEDfest, Hellberta, Canada’s celebration of horror film and horror culture. The deadline for submissions is 5:00pm on August 31, 2009.

Call for Submissions: Experimental Documentaries to STEM Cell

Metro Cinema will be presenting a program of experimental documentaries as part of STEM Cell: the Subterranean Edmonton Media Arts festival, from Feb 11 – 13, 2010. We are seeking submissions of short Canadian non-fiction films, videos, and media art, with a special focus on non-traditional documentary forms, especially including: structurally or technically innovative non-fiction works; essay films; animated documentaries; works that blur the line between fact and fiction; works that attempt to express the lived experience of creators with altered perceptions; particularly evocative documentations of the mundane.

The deadline for submissions is 5:00pm on October 1, 2009.

Mile Zero Dance and Metro Cinema are co-presenting REELING, a dance-on-screen film festival to be presented as part of STEM Cell: the Subterranean Edmonton Media Arts festival, from Feb 11 – 13, 2010. We invite dancers, choreographers, filmmakers and media artists to submit their recently completed dance-on-screen works. The deadline for submissions is 5:00pm on October 1, 2009.
