Mostly Water Theatre’s Metro Digital Shorts is a live screening of short films written, produced and performed by Edmonton’s best and worst up-and-coming cinematic sensations. Loosely based on Channel101.com in LA and Metro TV in Edmonton, Metro Digital Shorts is a chance for independent short filmmakers to get their work seen, adjudicated by professionals, get paid, win prizes and be forced to make a second short. The audience members act as studio executives, voting to decide if the short is good enough for a command performance of a second short (to be shown at the next installment of Metro Digital Shorts). If your short doesn’t get selected for a second installment, you’re free to try again.
Both comedic and more serious submissions are welcome but must be a maximum of 5 minutes and must not contain any copyright violations. Other than that, it’s wide open: your chance to get your film shorts seen, to compete against local artists and 1 day rule the world. Submit your shorts on a MiniDV tape or an uncompressed Quicktime movie file on a DVD, by 5pm on Wed, May 20 to:
