Reel Rock delivers the year's most exciting climbing and adventure films to audiences in over 100 cities around the world. Reel Rock shows are festive events where climbers and outdoors lovers gather to celebrate their passion for adventure. Metro Cinema is partnering with Mountain Equipment Co-op to present these screenings. Tickets are $12, and are available in advance at Mountain Equipment Co-op, and will also be for sale at the door. Sorry, no Metro passes.
The following films will be screening:
Progression - the latest release from the state of the art film makers at Big UP Productions, it tells the stoy of the worlds best climbers and their efforts to advance the sport in all its forms. Chris Sharma climbs the world's hardest sport route, Jumbo Love. Kevin Jorgenson pushes bouldering to dangerous new hights on Ambrosia in the California Buttermilks. Patxi Usobiaga and Johanna Ernst train like Olympians for the World Cup competitions, Tommy Cladwell ups the ante on Yosemites big walls, and much more.
First Ascent: The Series - is co-produced by the innovative prodcuters at Sender Films, and Nat Geo Adventure Channel. This leading new series features top atheles attempting unclimbed walls and peaks around the world from Patagonia and Brazil to Yosemite and beyond.
In addition to these films there will be two winning short films, one from each genre category, as chosen by you and the Reel Rock judges.
