Metro Bizarro: The Warriors
USA 1979, 92 min, Digital, Dir: Walter Hill

In a dystopic future New York City, the eponymous Warriors control Brooklyn’s Coney Island. One night, the gang is coerced into going a long way from their home turf by Cyrus, the visionary leader of the Gramercy Riffs, who lays out his mad dream of taking control of the whole city. In the ensuing struggle our heroes are framed for his murder, and it falls to Swan (Michael Beck), the gang’s new warchief, to ensure that the Warriors make it back to Coney Island in one piece. The only thing standing in his way is 60,000 members of the armies of the night, including the Baseball Furies, the Turnbull A.C.s and the roller-skating Punks. A personal favourite of Ronald Reagan of all people, The Warriors is one of the most controversial and beloved cult films of all time. “Come out and play” with us, won’t you?
