The Man Who Fell to Earth
UK 1976, 139 min, Digital, Dir: Nicolas Roeg

Coming to Earth from his dying home planet, Thomas (David Bowie) is soon caught up in the human lifestyle of crass consumption and fixation on image. In an attempt to gather the water his home desperately needs, he starts a high-tech company using his alien knowledge, gaining an admirer, Mary-Lou (Candy Clark) in the process. Metro Bizarro presents David Bowie in his film debut, playing the sort of character alluded to by his Ziggy Stardust identity, in one of the cinema’s greatest explorations of anomie and alienation in the modern world.
