Alberta Innovates - Health Solutions Science in the Cinema presents the final film of the 2012-13 season. The Necessities of Life takes the viewer back to the 1950’s to tell the story of an Inuit hunter named Tivii. Diagnosed with tuberculosis, Tivii is flown for treatment to a sanatorium in Quebec far from his family, his language, and his way of life. Dr. Anne Fanning, professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the U of A will introduce. After the film, she will discuss tuberculosis and the control of TB in vulnerable populations in Canada and worldwide.

Admission is free and includes a small popcorn.
