Arcand's amusing documentary about the 1980 referendum was produced by the French CBC but was never aired. Arcand cuts between political rally footage and interviews with "average" Quebecers to grasp how the "non" side was able to win the vote. The film is a pointed presentation of the facts and opinions that lead to the referendum, a presentation with plenty of references to Machiavelli's The Prince.
