April 29 is National Canadian Film Day, the day to celebrate our country’s cinematic pastime and be exposed to the great screen stories we tell one another in this cold, vast country. Global Visions Film Festival invites you to commemorate this auspicious occasion by joining us for an “early kick-off” to our 2015 edition of the festival with the highly-anticipated Edmonton premiere of, Marioni: The Fire in the Frame.

To cycling fans, his name is legendary. In 1964, Giuseppe Marinoni left Italy for Canada, and went on to become one of the most trusted bicycle builders in the world. Now 75, Marinoni is as driven as ever, and plans to break a world record for distance cycled in one hour for his age group. A Top 10 Audience Favourite at last year’s Hot Docs festival, Marinoni is a crowd-pleaser in every sense of the word – whether you’re passionate about cycling, or just a fan of great storytelling.

If you missed Marinoni's premiere on April 29, or if you can't wait to experience the thrill of the ride again, don't spin your wheels, you have 4 more chances to catch Marinoni in action at Metro Cinema with a full run of the film showing May 1, 2, 3, and 4. See below and Metro's online calendar for specific showtimes.
