This month we bid farewell to a friend, as Crime Watch comes to an end. From thriller to comedy and classic to contemporary, Crime Watch has offered a diverse and provocative glimpse into the cinematic criminal world. Curated by Laura O’Connor and Sam Sheplawy.

Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick? How about Ms. Scarlet in the study with a gun? If you’re dying to find out who done it, it’s time to join us at the final screening in the Crime Watch series and watch the classic crime comedy, Clue. Based on the perennially popular Hasbro board game, Clue is not only the seminal film of the toy-tie-in genre, it is a darn fine film that twists the tropes of classic Christie-style parlour murder mysteries into a gleefully macabre crime comedy featuring a script by John Landis and some of the best character actors in the biz. Not only that, but in the true spirit of the game, the film was released with 3 different endings, and audiences never knew which they were going to get! How’s that for suspense? We thought that a film all about endings - humorous, murderous endings - was a fitting final installment in the Crime Watch film series. Thank you all for sharing the journey into the diverse heart of crime cinema over these past 2 years and 25 films. We hope we’ve whetted your appetite for crime films and inspired you to continue your exploration of the genre. We assure you, it’s much healthier than exploring the subject matter!

This screening is part of the larger thematic series:
