Considered the inventor of cinema, Georges Méliès is someone best defined by superlatives. It took just a few years for this pioneer and entertainer of genius to reveal the full extent of his technical and narrative vision. His life ended in poverty, entirely forgotten, and it is only in recent decades that his genius has once again been celebrated. This production, weaving together a dozen of Méliès’ films with live music by a dizzyingly multi-instrumental trio, has performed across Europe and Asia. This is the only Edmonton stop on their North American tour.
