Sara (Seret Scott), a cold college professor, and her husband (Bill Gunn), an ecstatic painter, spend a summer away from the city, straining their rocky relationship. As a professor of philosophy, Sara prides herself on being liberal but she becomes jealous when her husband finds a muse in one of the beautiful local women.
