Metro Cinema accepts responsibility for maintaining a venue that feels safe and welcoming to all. This policy is intended to provide guidelines for acceptable behavior by patrons and guests. Metro has also adopted a respectful workplace policy for staff and volunteers.
SAFER SPACE POLICY:
Metro Cinema is committed to providing a safe environment to all attendees, staff and volunteers. Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, abusive or discriminatory language or behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove any patron creating a hostile environment. CODE OF CONDUCT:
Metro Cinema supports safe and inclusive cinema experiences. Metro Cinema does not tolerate abusive, discriminatory or disruptive behavior. This includes but is not limited to intoxicated patrons, disruptions of screenings, or harassment of others. Consequences may include removal from the venue, loss of festival pass or ticket, or potential exclusion from all future Metro Cinema events.
What events does this apply to?
This Code applies to all screenings, live events, parties, media launches, social media activities and internal operations.
Who is covered by this Code?
All attendees, external staff, volunteers, artists, Metro staff and special guests. Everyone who obtains entry to Metro Cinema is subject to this Code.
What do I do if I observe or experience a breach of this Code?
Please do not escalate the situation. If you are asked to stop any harassing behavior, STOP immediately. If immediate assistance is needed, contact a member of the Metro staff. If there is an emergency, please call 911. For concerns that are less urgent please contact our Executive Director by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
