Safe Space Policy

SAFER SPACE POLICY:

Metro Cinema is committed to providing a safe environment to all attendees, staff and volunteers. Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, abusive, or discriminatory language or behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove any patron creating a hostile environment. CODE OF CONDUCT:

Metro Cinema supports safe and inclusive cinema experiences. Metro Cinema does not tolerate abusive, discriminatory or disruptive behavior. This includes but is not limited to intoxicated patrons, disruptions of screenings, and harassment of others. Consequences may include removal from the venue, loss of festival pass or ticket, or potentially exclusion from all future Metro Cinema events.

What events does this apply to?

This Code applies to all screenings, live events, parties, media launches, social media activities and internal operations.

Who is covered by this Code?

All attendees, staff, volunteers, artists, venue staff and special guests.  Everyone who obtains entry to a Metro Cinema event is subject to this Code.

What do I do if I observe or experience a breach of this Code?

Please do not escalate the situation. If you are asked to stop any harassing behavior, STOP immediately. Seriously. If immediate assistance is needed, contact a member of the Metro staff or an employee of the venue. If there is an emergency, please call 911. For concerns that are less urgent please contact our staff by email at info@metrocinema.org. If you would prefer to discuss your concerns over the phone, please contact us at 780.425.9212. We will make sure to respond as soon as possible.
