The lobby of the Garneau Theatre, now Metro Gallery, features a rotating monthly exhibit of work by local visual artists. The gallery aims to bring accessible art to Metro audiences and to provide local artists with a paid platform to showcase their work.
Metro Gallery is curated by Edmonton visual artist and musician Tim Rechner. Tim has exhibited his artwork extensively locally as well as nationally and internationally. He has curated numerous exhibits in Edmonton at ArtsHab One, The Works Festival, The Artery, and Jackson Power Gallery.

We invite artists working in any aspect of visual arts—two dimensional, three dimensional, or video—to submit their work to our gallery for consideration.
Metro Cinema will provide a $200.00 honorarium to each monthly artist, and offer the opportunity for artists to sell their work during their exhibition. Work accepted will generally be programmed for a one-month period and scheduled to mutual satisfaction with selected artists.
